Speaker: Gavin Peacock

As Christ entered Jerusalem, He was now moving towards the cross. When some Greeks came seeking to see Jesus, the disciples' response was to connect them with Him. Christ, however, reminded them that this was the time of His glorification, that He lives and dies that we might live. - He will be glorified through His fruit-bearing death. All, including these Greeks, would see Him glorified. Christ's dying, like a grain of wheat falling to the ground, would produce much fruit. Christ's sacrificial death affects the whole world - a lens for seeing clearly: if we trust in Him, our sins will be put away and we will have eternal life. Christ lives and dies that we might live by dying. Christians are called to give our lives to live for Him, to deny 'self, take up the cross and follow Him. Though we might be rejected by others, facing conflict with personal sin, we will receive a hundredfold in Christ. Christ is not a mere example to follow, but a Saviour to serve, who saves us through His suffering. We are not to love the world or be afraid to take risks for Christ and we are not to live for this life only. Christ died that we might live by dying ourselves - choose this day who you will serve!
