Speaker: Gavin Peacock
When a person becomes a believer, they become a person of prayer. There are no physical bounds to prayer, so we should not pray narrowly. Paul returns to his first thoughts, to pray for the church at Ephesus and showing his approach to prayer - an attitude of reverence, humility and childlike love toward God. As we come to prayer, we should remember that we are coming before the King of kings and recognise the right relationship we should have with God. Paul petitioned God for spiritual strengthening for the church at Ephesus, for growth in knowledge and love for God and one another and, above all, that they might be filled with the fulness of the love of God. Paul's final prayer is for the exaltation of God for He is able to do exceedingly, abundantly above all that we could hope or imagine. We should not pray just for small things and seek to glorify God, not self. That He might be praised for eternity!
