Jesus shows his wise and compassionate judgment in dealing with a woman caught in adultery - He came to seek and save the lost, not just to rescue us but to change us from inside to out. Such things are recorded that we might believe , showing our need of the pardoning forgiveness of Christ. The scribes and pharisees had no real care for the Law because they themselves were strangers to God's grace and mercy. The Law shows us that we are all sinners and in need of God's mercy. While the scribes and pharisees were convicted by the words of Christ, they were not converted and went away still in their sin. The woman was convicted of her sin and went away having trusted in Christ, made whole by the grace of God. and no longer under condemnation. Though our sins be as scarlet, they can be made white as snow - what a Saviour!
