When we are presented with the truth of Christ, we need to affirm by trusting Him for salvation. Christ is both light and life - until we are born again, we walk in darkness. Christ is the Light of the world and the only way to life is through Him - the challenge is to follow Him who is our light and salvation. Unbelievers refuse to submit to the truth, despite Jesus' words and works which testify to who He is, and they do not know God as Father. To reject Christ as Saviour is to reject the Father because the only way to Him is through the Son. We need to love Christ and obey His word - the truth will set us free. We are to remember that the Father is sovereign in suffering and salvation - no-one was able to lay hands on Christ until His hour had come. If we follow Christ now, His light overshadows the things of this world. Jesus is sovereign over sin and disability and we are to remember the smiling countenance of the Father. Death is light for the Christian. We need to submit to Him and rest on His sovereignty in suffering and salvation.
