Patience and endurance are terms usually ranked high on everyone’s lists of good qualities, but the actual practicing of these qualities is a different story. Today on the Sanctified by Truth broadcast we’re continuing with our study in 2 Peter chapter 1. There seems to be a trend where many of us desire to have what is right and what is best growing in our lives, but we allow ourselves to believe it can and will happen without much cost or discomfort to ourselves. Yet, when we study passages like the one we are looking at today we must come to realize that most of the significant times of true growth and progress in our lives will take place during times of endurance, or as it has also been called, longsuffering. To prepare for this, we must come to grips with it as how God usually works in our lives and must come to expect it. Let’s begin in verse 5 of 2 Peter chapter 1.
