We live in an era where sincerity is being confused with actually doing and being right. Today on the Sanctified by Truth broadcast we’re dealing with an issue in II Peter 1 that has slowly become a controversial issue without most knowing it until it leads to a confrontation. We dealt with last time the need to love and desire what is right, but as Peter followed this first “add-to” quality with the need for knowledge, we come to realize that wanting to do right should naturally be followed by an urgency to know what actually is right. Knowledge without virtue leads to pride yet Virtue without knowledge leads to “sincere ignorance” which typically becomes a resource waster.
