The Gospel is trans-social, spanning the relationship between slave and master, employee and employer. Jesus transforms our disposition - freedom in Christ does not remove our obligation to those in authority and society generally. Obedience should be with respect and sincere, seeking to please God rather than men. The Christian should have an impact in the workplace as well as society, exhibiting a transformed life that points to God for reconciliation. We are to live lives centred on Christ, aiming to please Him rather than men, doing all to the glory of God. Our whole lives are to be in service to Him, such that the outer man fades and the inner man is strengthened, showing forth Christ to the world around us. The Gospel transforms even the hardest of hearts - the amazing grace of God saves us that we might live for Him.
