When Jesus saw the multitudes that were coming to Him, He was moved with compassion for them. He sees our sad state - weary and scattered like lost sheep having no shepherd. Man by himself is unable to deal with the soul's greatest needs, as with the self-proclaimed shepherds of this world. But our Shepherd has come - His compassion is unfailing and lasting ly He can lift us out of the mire of sin and the folly of unbelief. In dying, Christ paid the penalty for sin in our place. We need to believe in Him who cares for souls and trust Him for everlasting life.
