Conflict is a sign of immaturity in a church due to earthly and unspiritual influences. Quarrels are caused by inward conflict and choke out the Word. We should beware of being lovers of pleasure and not of God. The heart has been described as an idol factory which turns us away from worshipping our Creator, leading us to a wrong view of God and prayer. Friendship wit the world is enmity with God - we are called to live in submission to Jesus. We should not be comfortable in the world but centred on Christ. The cure is the jealous grace of God - true love demands exclusivity. God's jealous love gave Christ to die for sinners - by His grace, we are brought to glory. He will not turn away any who come to Him in repentance. Have we met the risen Christ?
