Maturity is shown in a wise lifestyle. Modern 'wisdom' is centred on man, whereas in Biblical terms, the fear of the Lord is the beginning of wisdom. Our wisdom is shown in the way that we live. We are to have an attitude of meekness, with a right view of ourselves before God and a considered view of others. God's work in our lives is evidenced by grace, meekness and wisdom - a benefit in church membership is shown by the way we are able to encourage and admonish one another. Wisdom is not bitter jealousy or selfish ambition, but is to do with the seeking of God's mercy as we remember what He has done in Christ. God's wisdom is pure and peaceable and inconsistent with earthly wisdom which denies God. True wisdom comes from God who is the only source. A life of wisdom is full of good fruits and sincerity and shows we are attached to the Lord. The harvest of righteousness has peace at its root - what we sow is what we get. We are to be a beacon of counter-culture before the world, pointing to Christ, the Wisdom of God.
