Think of Yourself with Sober Judgment: You are a Part of the Body of Christ
Speaker: Adam Meisberger
Church, we are to be different from the world. We are to come out from among the world, and we are to image God to the world. How? By becoming like Jesus Christ. By walking in His Spirit. By being full of the Holy Spirit. The Church is the Body of Christ. That is who we are. That is who Bethel is. We are not some humanitarian organization, we are not just some society that meets on Sundays or a few other times a week, we are not just a people holding to the traditions of our past, we are not just a group of people that read the Bible and sing and try to keep the doors of this building from closing by doing a few programs here and there. We here at Bethel are a part of the Body of Christ. We have many different people that come here, but we are each part of the same body—and we do not belong to ourselves, we belong to Christ. Therefore, let us live in such a way that is pleasing in His Sight. Let us live in holiness and godliness in the fear of God. For we are living unto God. Christ is our Life, Christ is our Righteousness, Christ is our Breath, Christ is our Power, Christ is our Light, Christ is our Joy and Strength our All in All. Let us not be ashamed to stand for Christ. May we lay ourselves down on the alter, letting self go, and let us live to Christ alone. Even if that means we will stand out more and more in this world that is increasingly becoming evil. Even if the world around us hates us for not conforming to their system of beliefs. Bethel, we are the Body of Christ. Let us truly consider this, thinking of ourselves with sober judgment of who we are in truth.
