The Kindness and Sternness of God
Speaker: Adam Meisberger
This is a very serious matter. The modern-day church needs to take the sternness of God very much to heart. God is absolutely serious. If anyone, anyone, anyone rejects Him and His way, if they reject His Word and reject Jesus for who He is in Truth—they will not get away with their disobedience, but they will pay, they will be judged, and their judgment will be eternal Hell, separation from God for all eternity.
Too many in the modern-day church want God’s love and kindness and mercy and forgiveness and grace, and they just want to focus on God’s goodness towards them, and God’s blessing towards them—but so many in the modern-day church are not walking in obedience to God—they have actually rejected His Word. Too many do not preach and teach the Scriptures accurately, they are not submitted to what is clearly taught in the Scriptures, and when the truth is proclaimed, they reject it. They say they only believe in a God of love and kindness, not a God of judgment and holiness. But they believe in a God who is accepting of what they want to do, and how they want to live, a God that shows His great love and blessing to them even as they tread on His Word and reject what He has spoken. Too many in the modern-day church have so carelessly and thoughtlessly gone astray from the Lord, and are beginning to call good evil and evil good. Too many confessing Christians have embraced the world and the teachings of the culture and the building of their worldly empires and kingdoms—but they have rejected the God of truth.
God is very serious about this...He is very stern. Do not reject God’s way. Do not think it a light thing to be so careless with His word, or careless in how you see Jesus. Humbly submit to who He is in Truth. Submit fully and wholly to what is taught and proclaimed in the Scriptures. Do not try to make God’s word more fitting and acceptable to a culture that has itching ears, wanting God to be okay with their sin. God is Holy. God is True. God is Righteous.
But know this, if you submit yourself to who God is in truth and do not reject Him and His way, humbling yourself to Him and to God’s Messiah—God will not treat you as your sins deserve, but will be extremely kind and merciful toward you. And He longs to be kind to us. But He knows, if we refuse Him and His Word, there is no salvation, there is no mercy, there is no grace. Let us submit our all to Him for who He is in truth.
