I Saw One Like a Son of Man

• Feb 6, 2022

Speaker: Adam Meisberger

The apostle John, along with Daniel and Ezekiel, describes seeing Someone as appearing “like a son of man.” This One looks like one of us, a human, but yet He looks so wondrously different, so much so that this human was like no man that John had ever seen before. But John had seen Him before. This is Jesus, the One John followed nearly all his life. But this Jesus is so gloriously awesome to behold, it is near baffling to John. Jesus is the Son of God, but yet, He is also the Son of Man—He is one of us, a human being, but He is Risen and Glorified, and He is able to bring us humans into the presence of the Almighty God and live forever in a kingdom that is perfect—no more sin, no more pain or suffering, no more grieving, no more trouble, no more trial, no more death. Jesus’ kingdom will be forever. And as glorious and awesome and brilliant the Risen and Glorified Jesus is to behold, notice what He tells the apostle John in Revelation 1:17. John falls down before this One as a dead man, but notice what Jesus does—He places His hand on John and says, “Do not be afraid.” What awesome words! We who believe in Jesus, this One who has crushed the head of Satan, we no longer need to be afraid. We no longer need to be afraid of standing in the presence of the glorious light and presence of God. Jesus looks at us who believe, those who place their faith in Him, and He says to us, “Do not be afraid.” Its finished. In Christ, it is finished. Mankind has been brought back into the glorious presence of God, and through Christ, we can live with God, forever. Glory be unto His Holy Name! Click on the link to listen to this sermon:
