A person can have all the right stances, can have extreme morality and still go to Hell for all eternity because they thought that their salvation and God’s pleasure over them was in their stances and in their attempts to be a good person. Church, let us make much of Christ Jesus! Let us not attempt to make converts to our denomination, to our little groups, to our ideologies and political stances—so much so that we lose sight of people submitting themselves to Christ’s Lordship and to the reality that God rose Him from the dead and has made a new humanity through Him. God is looking for the humble, and He is very near. Those who humble themselves before Him, calling upon His Name will be saved. This has always been the way of salvation. It is what God said in Joel 2:32, “Everyone who calls on the name of the Lord will be saved.” It is not everyone who figures everything out just right who will be saved, it is those who confess they are nothing, and God is everything, humbling themselves before Him, realizing they are sinners in a helpless condition, and if salvation is going to come to them, only God can do it—and He has—in and through Jesus Christ. Submit to Christ, submit to His Lordship. Christ is Lord, and there is no other. And He has been raised from the dead—there is eternal life in His name. I urge you, submit your all to Christ and let nothing else in your life become more important to you than Jesus Christ.
