Though we celebrate the first advent, as believers we look now to Christ's second coming. The book of Revelation is focussed on Jesus and His overcoming of Satan and his allies - He it is who makes us victorious. As believers, we are inspired to lives of witness and holiness because of Him. Our incentive is that Christ is coming soon. The second advent will be sudden and we need to be ready - true Christians will conquer if they heed the word of God. In the light of His coming, we need to keep His word, to worship Him alone - a true sense of God makes us bow down before Him and challenges us to examine ourselves. This will make us sensitive to sin and remind us of our need of Christ as Saviour. We are made clean by being washed in the blood of the Lamb. Judgment serves to remind us of the extent of God's grace and how much HE has done for ME! As believers, we are to long for Christ's coming when we will be made to be like Him. Christ's return is truly 'Joy to the world' - that we might have that joyful anticipation.
