For the purpose of this study, we will focus primarily on the early chapters of the Book of Acts, along with the instruction found in the Pastoral Epistles. The reason we are looking at Acts is because of the powerful message that it gives concerning the life of the church. When the church was born at the Feast of Pentecost, no one trained the Christians how to act or relate to each other. What happened in the first century church was natural, normal, and a heart expression of what Christians do and how they live. We will also take a look at the instruction given in the Pastoral Epistles concerning the life of the church. It is in the Pastoral Epistles that we are given clear and vital instruction concerning the living of the Christian life individually and in relationships in the church.
