Christ was fulfilling the scriptures as the God-Man in His death on the cross - God meant it for the greatest good in the history of the world for in Christ, God was reconciling the world to Himself. Reconciliation involves propitiation, justification and redemption. All have sinned and fall short of the glory of God - Christ is the only Mediator who can end our alienation from Him. In the Great Exchange, our guilt is credited to Christ and His righteousness is imputed to us. There is new life, love and vision in Christ for those who turn to Him for salvation. We are not to ignore what God offers in Christ and the message of Good Friday needs to go out to all the nations now. This is the day of God's grace and mercy. God makes Good Friday good!
