Abstract: The metaphor of living things is often used to explain the kingdom of God. The vine represents His people and should be fruitful to others. The basic teaching of the vine is the relationship we should have with Jesus. Our job is to go out and bear fruit. If we do not bear fruit, then Jesus as gardener will give us special attention to help us increase our fruit. The pruning we suffer is to increase our fruitfulness.
