The certificate of divorce allowed under the law was in response to the hardness of the people's hearts, it was not an endorsement of divorce. Allowance of it in the law did not make it a truly moral response. We should not put human feelings above God's institution (which is what marriage is- God's not ours). Remarriage after divorce is not moral before God legal divorce does not end a marriage before God, only the death of one of the spouses does. We do not expect the world to honor God's institution, but we do expect ourselves as Christians to do so, realizing that whatever our lot, singleness, marriage, singleness after divorce, it has been given to us by God. We Christians do not have hard hearts so we cannot appeal back to the law (also the law regulated remarriage, it didn't command divorce or even give permission for it)
