These statements of our Lord demonstrate His individual care for each of His children. Don't look down upon any of His children who depend on the Father. Humble dependence is especially protected/defended by God. Christ uses a picture of a lost sheep being found by a shepherd who is not willing to lose even one of His sheep. God will not lose even one of His children, God's retrieval of His lost sheep is certain. Our attitude towards a wayward brother should not be one of condemnation but of a longing to see their repentance.
