The answer to our insecurities is the anchor we find in the Lord and true blessing comes when we embrace God's design. Unless the Lord builds the house, we labour in vain - our whole life is dependent upon Him and we should not trust in our own skills and abilities. What God builds, He protects - this is the basis of family life. Though we do not build, we are nevertheless to be labourers and watchmen for the Lord, living according to the Master's design. Trust in God is a firm foundation for our lives. Children are part of the blessing of a house built by God - ultimately they belong to God and as parents, we are stewards. They are also arrows in preparation for spiritual warfare, so should be brought up in discipline and instruction in the Lord, not indoctrinated by world and culture. Our desire should be for them to go forth bearing the flag for Christ, remembering that true security is only found in the promises of God.
