Word of Peace Lutheran Church

What We Believe As a congregation of the Evangelical Lutheran Church in America, we believe in the basic principles of Martin Luther's theological teachings. We believe: We are saved by the grace of God alone. We are not saved by anything that we do. Our salvation is through faith alone. Confidently trust God, who in Christ promises us forgiveness, life and salvation. The Bible is the norm for faith and life. Our Vision To be a community where everyone knows Christ's Love and shares Christ's Love with all people. Our Mission Christ works through us as we: Welcome all people to grow in faith, love and devotion, Share Christ through word and deed, Care for others and the world God made, and Work for justice and peace.

February 2, 2024 - February 1 “Grace Alone” (Saint and Sinner)”

• Feb 1, 2026
Does God hear us? Is God tired of our pleas? Do our words seem superficial? Does prayer matter? How do we pray? Join us as we journey through The Lord’s Prayer, explore these questions, and more. For Today: We have been saved by grace alone (sola gratia), through faith alone (sola fide), in Christ alone (solus Christus), according to scripture alone (sola scriptura), for the glory of God alone (soli Deo gloria). In Martin Luther’s time, this sentence was groundbreaking, but more than 500 years after the Reformation, these promises may start to feel commonplace to us. This week, we slow down to remember how truly revelatory this gift is that we’ve been given through the grace of God. Bible Readings: Romans 3:21-28; Ephesians 2:8-9 Pastor Kate Gerkie For more information about upcoming events and announcements: wordofpeace.org/announcements Support the ministry of Word of Peace: wordofpeace.org/give
