Word of Peace Lutheran Church
What We Believe As a congregation of the Evangelical Lutheran Church in America, we believe in the basic principles of Martin Luther's theological teachings. We believe: We are saved by the grace of God alone. We are not saved by anything that we do. Our salvation is through faith alone. Confidently trust God, who in Christ promises us forgiveness, life and salvation. The Bible is the norm for faith and life. Our Vision To be a community where everyone knows Christ's Love and shares Christ's Love with all people. Our Mission Christ works through us as we: Welcome all people to grow in faith, love and devotion, Share Christ through word and deed, Care for others and the world God made, and Work for justice and peace.
April 13, 2025 - Maundy Thursday: "The Most Underappreciated Day of the Year"
Maundy Thursday is the most underappreciated day of the year. Most would rather jump to Easter and let the easter message be like chugging a couple of religious Red Bulls for a Spiritual shot in the arm. Instead Maundy Thursday is about taking off our masks and “getting real”/authentic before God. In the process God gets real with us on Maundy Thursday with the gift of communion.
Bible Readings: Luke 18:35-43
