Word of Peace Lutheran Church
What We Believe As a congregation of the Evangelical Lutheran Church in America, we believe in the basic principles of Martin Luther's theological teachings. We believe: We are saved by the grace of God alone. We are not saved by anything that we do. Our salvation is through faith alone. Confidently trust God, who in Christ promises us forgiveness, life and salvation. The Bible is the norm for faith and life. Our Vision To be a community where everyone knows Christ's Love and shares Christ's Love with all people. Our Mission Christ works through us as we: Welcome all people to grow in faith, love and devotion, Share Christ through word and deed, Care for others and the world God made, and Work for justice and peace.
February 18, 2024 - "Altered through God's Creativity "
Lent is often a time of self-reflection, spiritual discipline, commitment, and community. We gather to sing the minor harmonies of the way of Jesus on the road toward the cross. This Lent, however, we are going to look at a kaleidoscope of stories from the Book of Acts. We’ll see the ways the Spirit alters our perspective, transforms our communities, and consistently blazes a trail ahead of us.
For Today: Altered through God's Creativity - In our scripture reading today, the result of the Spirit’s arrival is characterized by the ability of the disciples to speak languages they had not previously known. What does this detail tell us about God? God’s creativity is diverse and the followers of Jesus are just catching up to it.
Speaker: Pastor Tyler Strom
Bible Reading: Acts 2:1-13
