Word of Peace Lutheran Church
What We Believe As a congregation of the Evangelical Lutheran Church in America, we believe in the basic principles of Martin Luther's theological teachings. We believe: We are saved by the grace of God alone. We are not saved by anything that we do. Our salvation is through faith alone. Confidently trust God, who in Christ promises us forgiveness, life and salvation. The Bible is the norm for faith and life. Our Vision To be a community where everyone knows Christ's Love and shares Christ's Love with all people. Our Mission Christ works through us as we: Welcome all people to grow in faith, love and devotion, Share Christ through word and deed, Care for others and the world God made, and Work for justice and peace.
December 15, 2024 (Advent 3) - Festival of Carols: Joy Made Possible
Festival of Carols
Prophets are painters. They paint pictures of a time to come when people will be at peace with one another, hope will be made real, and all will shout for joy! Even if that time seems far off, we know it has already begun in Jesus, who is love come down to transform our lives and the world. This Advent season, as we prepare to celebrate the birth of Jesus, we celebrate how he has made possible what once seemed impossible—peace, hope, joy, and love!
For Today: True joy is not based on circumstances but is a gift rooted in God's promises, fulfilled through the arrival of Christ. Even in seasons of waiting or uncertainty, God's presence brings healing, restoration, and hope, making joy accessible to all.
