Continuous and relentless battles are being waged between God and Satan for the lives of human beings. Peter warned first-century believers about Satan, “Watch out for your great enemy, the devil. He prowls around like a roaring lion, looking for someone to devour” (I Peter 5:8, NLT). On the other hand, Jesus said of Himself, “The Son of Man came to seek and to save those who are lost” (Luke 19:10, NLT). What a stark contrast! Millions and millions of unsuspecting people are being swept into darkness and death by the deceptive lies of Satan. We must put on an all-out offensive to rescue them from eternal destruction. That’s what Jesus was talking about when He said, “Go into all the world and preach the Good News to everyone” (Mark 16:15, NLT). The question is, “How can we rescue millions of perishing men and women?” The answer is that we must follow the “instructions” that Paul gave Timothy to help him “fight well in the Lord’s battles!” Notice what Paul wrote, “Timothy, my son, here are my instructions for you… May they help you fight well in the Lord’s battles” (I Timothy 1:18s…18c, NLT).
