If we learn nothing else from the words of Hebrews 4:12, we certainly become aware that the Word of God is a living and powerful force; and that God wants His Word to penetrate deeply into our being! Let’s read the verse thoughtfully—“The word of God is living and powerful, and sharper than any two-edged sword, piercing even to the division of soul and spirit, and of joints and marrow, and is a discerner of the thoughts and intents of the heart” (Hebrews 4:12, NKJV). Since that is the case, it seems only practical that you do all you can to get His Word into the deepest part of your being. This is another component of practical discipleship! It’s what disciples do.
