In studying or teaching on a passage correctly we need to remember that our overemphasis or underemphasis of a text can both be dangerous. Many people cannot see past the incidentals of a passage, missing the point. The Holy Spirit guides us into all truth and His guiding us will involve our being humbled and corrected by other people. The truth is not dull and drab when given to those who are truly hungry. Boredom can be caused by a spiritual diet of artificial fillers and sweeteners.
