We are not to be cowards, cheaters and deceivers in our dealings with the Word of God. We are not to twist the Word of God. The Apostle Paul denounced a hidden presentation of the Gospel, he was against adulterating the truth. We must hold close to the Scripture and not give in to our own personal tendency to make it all about ourselves. Most people corrupt the truth with the best of intentions (for instance, trying to keep the interest of their audience).
