In some traditions, after a sermon like this, there’d be an altar call. Don’t ever think that Lutherans don’t have altar calls. We do! Holy Communion is our altar call. That’s when we examine ourselves with the Words of Christ. That’s when we confess that we’re sinners and only through faith in the true body and blood of Christ do we receive forgiveness.
