Last week in our "tour" of the "House of Romans," we left off chapter one looking into the spiraling abyss of the slippery sinful staircase of the Gentile world, which sits in full view of the great hall of God's creation. But lest we should turn up our nose in mere judgment of those heading downwards, chapter two pulls the floor out from under our feet and we find ourselves inexcusably in the basement of sin ourselves. Our conscience bears witness, v15, that we are also under the "righteous judgment of God," v5. Even those of Jewish descent, like our tour guide Paul, who boast in the law of God, have broken it themselves.
