The Peace Offering did not make peace with God. It was acknowledgement and praise for what God had already provided. It was one of the only offerings that could be eaten along with the worshippers, in a communion or fellowship meal with God and the priests. God is not interested in taking from us. The peace offering shows that worshipers in the Old Testament were not any more responsible for their salvation than worshipers in the New Testament.
