Abstract: 1 Thessalonians is possibly the first letter written by Paul. There was trouble stirred up by cerain Jews causing Paul to move out. Paul had sent Timothy back and he reports that the Thessalonians were doing well. Paul is facing restricted circumstances but is heartened by the growth of Churches he has founded. If God has a plan, nothing can stop it. It is important to be aware that we are 'all in it together' and Satan highlights differences. The joy of being a teacher is watching people grow. Paul prayed 3 things: may God clear all barriers, may the Lord make your love increase and may He strengthen your hearts to be blameless and holy. Being persecuted for living as a Christian is indeed honouring God.
