What We Believe As a congregation of the Evangelical Lutheran Church in America, we believe in the basic principles of Martin Luther's theological teachings. We believe: We are saved by the grace of God alone. We are not saved by anything that we do. Our salvation is through faith alone. Confidently trust God, who in Christ promises us forgiveness, life and salvation. The Bible is the norm for faith and life. Our Vision To be a community where everyone knows Christ's Love and shares Christ's Love with all people. Our Mission Christ works through us as we: Welcome all people to grow in faith, love and devotion, Share Christ through word and deed, Care for others and the world God made, and Work for justice and peace.

September 10, 2023 - "God Calls and Persists: Running from our Calling"

• Sep 10, 2023

Speaker: Pastor Kristin Skare

Jonah and the Big Whale is a beloved Old Testament story many of us learned in Sunday School, but this story isn't just for kids. Jonah challenges us to look at our journey of finding life's purpose. We begin our series exploring the human condition to run from God's calling and how this can prevent us from experiencing God's plan for our lives. From here, we learn to embrace our identity, surrender our will to God, answer God's call, and live out our purpose. Together, we will better understand our unique role in God's mission and feel equipped to pursue our calling with confidence and joy. For Today: Often, we run from what we know is our calling because it seems too difficult or uncomfortable. However, when we avoid our true vocation, we miss out on God's plan for our lives and the abiding joy that comes with it.
