Word of Peace Lutheran Church

What We Believe As a congregation of the Evangelical Lutheran Church in America, we believe in the basic principles of Martin Luther's theological teachings. We believe: We are saved by the grace of God alone. We are not saved by anything that we do. Our salvation is through faith alone. Confidently trust God, who in Christ promises us forgiveness, life and salvation. The Bible is the norm for faith and life. Our Vision To be a community where everyone knows Christ's Love and shares Christ's Love with all people. Our Mission Christ works through us as we: Welcome all people to grow in faith, love and devotion, Share Christ through word and deed, Care for others and the world God made, and Work for justice and peace.

Speaker: Pastor Kristin Skare

What do you carry in your water jar? Jesus knows everything about you. He invites you to put your bucket down and find abundant life in him. Join us this Lent as we discover, through the story of the woman at the well, what discipleship looks like embodied in an individual whose life is changed by her encounter with Jesus. By overhearing the woman's conversation with Jesus, perhaps we can imagine how our own discipleship has come about and appreciate how we live it out. We hope that, throughout this series, you feel encouraged that your own faith experiences can be trusted. That your own encounters with Jesus are worthy of reflection. And that you, as a disciple of Jesus, matter to Jesus—and to God.
