- Pressing on Toward the Goal- Paul says that he is still pushing for more. Many professing Christians are content with where they are spiritually rather than pushing for more. We will not reach the finish line until we are done with this earthly life, we must press on. Some people go into a mode of spiritual growth retirement. This is not good. We must continually strive to grab hold of the purposes for which God has laid hold of us. As Christians we realize that If we are still alive then God still has work for us to do. We want to hit the finish line running at full speed!
