Introduction: A principle in life that should be observed and applied is this: What matters at any given moment in life is what eternally and ultimately matters. In other words, the greater reality should govern the present reality of life. By observing this principle, we are best able to orientate our priorities in life. With this in mind, we come to a key passage of Scripture in the Book of Ecclesiastes. This passage governs all that is said in the book, meaning that everything in the book should be interpreted through the lens of this passage. Furthermore, this passage serves as a capstone to all that is previously said. Today we will think together about the conclusion of the matter, that which truly matters. Today, we think together from the Scripture about obedience and accountability to God.
