The name "Immanuel - God with us" is both good news and bad news depending on the situation. God with us is a message of law to all those who reject His gracious offer of rescue and salvation. For Christians, it is good news! God is with us in troubles. God is with us in our services - invocation, absolution, communion, and baptism. "Even though I walk through the valley of the shadow of death, I will fear no evil, for You are with me." (Psalm 23) Immanuel - God with us!
