In the book of 1 Peter, the apostle refers to mercy in relation to God allowing us into His family. He refers to it as abundant mercy. Peter knew something about God's mercy. Christ had taught him a lesson about being merciful to others and he had then learned just how much abundance of mercy he needed from Christ himself.
