We believe that all of the Bible is inspired by God’s Spirit, but in this series we’ll be focusing particularly on the words that Jesus spoke - in some bibles His words are printed in red ink to help the reader more easily recognise when He is speaking among all the other voices in the narratives. What a wonderful treasure to have these words directly from the mouth of Jesus, our Lord and Saviour. What did Jesus mean when He said that we are the salt of the earth? As it turns out, there isn't just one right way or thing we must do in order to apply this metaphor in Jesus’ teaching. Perhaps the more urgent question then is how does salt lose its saltiness so that it becomes good for nothing except to be thrown out?
