Waiting in Hope The people to whom Jeremiah wrote had to wait 450 years before Jesus came to fulfill those ancient promises. Some of Jesus’ promises are not yet complete and so every generation of his followers has had to learn to wait, something that does not come easily to us. How do we remain ready when God seems slow in delivery? This advent we’re reminded to live and wait in hope for the arrival of the promised One, on a day that will come like a “thief in the night”.
