"We live in an era in which the professing Church seems to have lost sight of its most fundamental foundations. The first eleven chapters of Genesis lay the foundation(the roots)to all we know and understand. More than just the Creation of the universe, we see the creation of mankind, the fall of man, the rise of nations, the flood and the formation of languages. The biblical account has been under constant attacks and criticism.... Theologians now cower at the foot of what appears to be uncontradictable findings of the scientific community of our day. We find our teaching striving to blend a mixture of Bible truth with 'evolutionary theory'. Beyond this, the innate nature of man has come into question as a result of failing to see the events and lasting results of Genesis 3. As a result of humanistic thinking and indoctrination Scripture is now viewed as if it is 'about' man versus God's revelation of His working throughout history. These affects are no trivial matter. They impact how we see (our 'word view')everything! If we study and understand what is taught (historically) in these initial chapters, we will be better equipped, not just for life, but for the further study and understanding of the rest of Scripture.
