The women that first Easter were expecting a body – Jesus' dead body – a corpse in a cave. They were coming to anoint Jesus body so naturally they would be asking: “who will roll away the stone for us from the entrance of the tomb?” Little did they know there were other problems…like an armed guard and a stone that would be sealed. How unlike our questions this Easter morning. Almost two thousand years after that first Easter we aren’t worried about rolling stones away. No way. We are more worried about what to wear, what to eat, and when to eat. We not only full expect the stone to be rolled away, we expect to hear about a living Christ – our Savior risen from the dead. And so we say today: Christ is risen. He is risen indeed. Alleluia! Victory is ours!
