During Passover, the Scribes and priest sought to get rid of Jesus through trickery. Then Mark inserts the story of Mary's anointing of Jesus. Taking a valuable alabaster jar, she breaks it and pours valuable oil of spikenard on Jesus' head. She was criticized for this, but Jesus defended her saying she gave what she could. She gave all she had as worship to Jesus as an act of love from the heart. After, Judas decides to betray Jesus and goes to the ruling Jews to make plans to do so.
