John the Baptist comes on the scene and levels the field so that all can see the salvation of God. As prophesied by his father, Zechariah. Did he cause a reversal or did he level the field? Did the rich and poor trade places or did he give everyone what they needed to see God's salvation? We hear this message today as one of leveling. God offers forgiveness and salvation for all people, not just a special group. This is the same calling the church has today.
