Speaker: Don Lambert

You may have heard the old adage that encourages not to “drive our tent stakes in too deep” since we are not supposed to see ourselves as being here, on this earth, very long. But, often, we do find ourselves distracted, spending too much our time and too many of our resources on making things easy for this life. As we’re told in Hebrews 4, we have a “rest” still ahead of us, and we’re to work until we reach that “rest”. Today, on the Sanctified by Truth broadcast, we’re going to spend some time identifying (in First Peter chapter 2) with our true identity as strangers and pilgrims on this earth, and as citizens of Heaven. Realizing our true identity we’re supposed to avoid the typical cares and temptations of this life, all of which cause us to take our eyes off of our eternal priorities, and become sidetracked with lesser values, finding ourselves unprepared and unwilling to suffer for what is right.
