Is the Church simply an organization...or a business? The Scriptures present it as much more than either of those options. Paul says the Church is an "organism". It is a body of believers. Like our physical bodies, the Church has many diverse parts. Yet they are to work in concert with each other as a unified body. This is what Jesus prayed for in His High Priestly Prayer. The Holy Spirit gives gifts, enabling each person to contribute to the health and flourishing of the Body of Christ!
