Three patriarchs are mentioned in our text today as people of faith. In each instance, their faith is illustrated in a blessing or instructions concerning future things..."things to come". Our God keeps His promises. If we do not see them fulfilled in our lifetime, we must pass the reality of those promises and the expectation of their fulfillment to the next generation.
