Peter builds upon the precious promises of Christ that should motivate us to invest generously in our Christian growth. He is reminding us of these truths to "stir us up" to to Christ-like action. It is fitting that we come to this passage the week of Thanksgiving. We give thanks remembering what God has done for us. Peter encourages spiritual growth based upon being reminded of the truths of the faith.
