Temptation has a two-fold meaning. The first, means to be tested, tried, or proven and is of God. God will tempt us in the sense of testing for spiritual growth. The second meaning is that of tempting one to commit sin. This type of temptation is not of God but is brought on by either the devil, our flesh, or the desires of our heart.
